Campaign maths in one place: CTR, CPC, CPM, ROAS, conversion rates, email engagement and the value of the traffic you rank for.

Campaign metrics are simple divisions that get compared badly. Every tool here is one number divided by another; the value is in knowing which pair to divide and what the result actually implies.

The money metrics come first. ROAS is revenue over ad spend, and on its own it is close to meaningless — a 3× ROAS is excellent at a 60% gross margin and a slow bleed at 25%. The calculator therefore reports break-even ROAS alongside it. Advertising ROI goes further and works from gross profit rather than revenue, which is the version a finance team will accept.

The traffic metrics price and convert attention. CPC and CPM tell you what clicks and impressions cost; CTR tells you how well the creative earns them; conversion rate tells you what happens after the click. Read in that order they form a funnel, and the weakest ratio is where the money is going.

Email open rate and engagement rate cover owned and social channels. Both include the version of the metric that people usually want but rarely compute: click-to-open rate, which separates the subject line from the content, and engagement by reach rather than by follower count, which is the only fair comparison between accounts of different sizes.

The two outliers are the most useful for planning. SEO traffic value puts an advertising price on an organic ranking by combining search volume, a position CTR curve and cost per click — the closest thing to a defensible number for what SEO work is worth. And lead conversion tracks a funnel from raw lead to closed deal, producing stage conversion rates and a cost per lead.

How to choose the right tool

ROAS or advertising ROI? Use ROAS for day-to-day campaign management, because it is what ad platforms report and it moves fast enough to act on. Use advertising ROI when someone asks whether the marketing budget is working, because it accounts for the cost of the goods you sold.

CPC or CPM? They are the same spend expressed against different denominators, and CTR is the bridge: CPC equals CPM divided by a thousand clicks per impression. Buy on CPM for reach campaigns where impressions are the point, and on CPC for response campaigns where clicks are.

General or ecommerce conversion rate? The conversion rate calculator is the general division and also reverse-solves the traffic needed to hit a target. The ecommerce version adds average order value, revenue per visitor and an uplift simulator, which is what you want when the conversion is a purchase.

One warning that applies to every tool on this page: none of them are meaningful on small numbers. A conversion rate computed from 40 sessions is noise, and acting on it costs more than ignoring it. If you need to judge whether a difference is real, the standard deviation calculator is the honest starting point.

Marketing questions

Whatever exceeds your break-even ROAS, which is 1 divided by your gross margin. At a 40% margin, break-even is 2.5× — so a 3× ROAS is modestly profitable and a 2× ROAS loses money. The ROAS calculator computes both from your own figures.

It varies hugely by placement. Search ads on branded terms can exceed 10%; display campaigns often sit below 0.5%; a top organic search result typically earns 25–30% of clicks. Compare against your own history and against the same placement, never across channels.

Click rate divides clicks by emails delivered; click-to-open divides clicks by opens. The second isolates how compelling the content was to people who actually saw it, which separates a weak email from a weak subject line. The email calculator reports all three.

It is a useful upper bound rather than a literal valuation. Paid clicks arrive on demand and organic ones do not, but organic traffic does not stop when the budget does. Treat the figure from the SEO traffic value calculator as "what buying this attention would cost", not as revenue.

Reach, if you want to judge the content, because follower counts include people who never saw the post. Followers, if you are comparing accounts on a common public basis — which is what most benchmark tables do. The engagement rate calculator reports both.
